"I felt I was lead to come here from treatment, but didn’t have the funds, but through God and a group of supportive people I got here. This program has been good for my recovery and the counseling group sessions have opened my eyes to a lot of stuff I needed to work on in myself.  I have a job now and am making progress toward my goals for rebuilding my life. The other guys here and the staff are great.  They are supportive and hold me accountable for my choices and decisions.  I have made trust worthy friends here that really care about me. This was the right choice for me."

"Hello, my name is Ronald.  I was in treatment back in 2009 at Fairland when one of my roommates asked me to go to THE EXTRA MILE with him.  After he explained to me what this place was, I immediately accepted the request.  I was open for anything that would keep me from returning to who I was and where I was. I arrived at THE EXTRA MILE on 7/5/09.  I was excited and pretty overwhelmed about how much freedom I was feeling coming out of treatment. After a couple weeks, I got very bored and impatient.  But, in my head and heart I knew not to leave.  I knew great things would come and they did.  I have accomplished some things that only day-dreamed about accomplishing in active addiction. I know the most important thing is that I am clean and sober.  And I look forward to the future because I know things will continue to get better. I would not want to know what my life might be like if I hadn’t decided to come here."

"My addiction had taken most of what I cared about in my life. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired !  I got into treatment. After treatment, my family wanted me to try extended sober living Because on my own I tend to isolate and concentrate on what all is Wrong in my life.  I gave it a try.  I had lots of doubts at first, of course, but after I got settled I saw without this supportive environment, I would have, most likely gone back to old ways and habits.  I am sober, working every day and making progress in my life and I am grateful today for this program, and good friends here that will tell me the truth and will confront me when I need it.  Life is better surrounded by sober support!"
